In a letter from Melvin White, a descendant of William and Fanny Bishop White, he wrote that the inscription on William's grave reads: William White, Born Feb 25 1786, Died July 14, 1872 "Father thou are gone to rest after a long and toilsome life. And we will try to cease to mourn, for our loss is thy great gain. Blessed are they that die in the Lord, for they rest from their labors, and their works do follow them.".

(Kai) Bishop, 1809-188?. p33, Dr. Walker writes that in discussion with his grandfather, he learned that Kai Bishop died before the fall of 1887. Kaiser Bishop and his first wife are buried by a big oak tree in an old cemetery (no tombs in it). The tree is on the north side of the Lisbon Road northwest of ElDorado and the graves are a little ways--possibly little over a half quarter--beyond the J. Slaughter home at Dumas City.

(Kai) Bishop, 1809-188?. p37 Dr. Walker writes that by comparing known signatures of Kai Bishop to those of the three H. W. Bishops that married in Webster Parish, he concluded that the 1875 marriage was that of his ancestor. He also concluded that neither of the other H.W. Bishop marriages were those of H. W. Bishop, Jr.
