BRALEY was born on Oct 16, 1850 in Louisiana. He appeared

and brother James Monroe. He died on May 18, 1913 in Webster Parish,
LA.
William Richard's Record of Succession was found at the Webster Parish Courthouse,
at Minden, in flat file no. 315, document no. 38, dated 1913. The basic document
provided for the welfare of Gladys, the mentally retarded daughter of W. R. and
Ida in Tutorship document no. 315 and document no. 427 dated 2923. Robert H.
Miller and Ben F. Braley were appointed dative and under tutors, respectively.
The succession was signed by J. M. Braley (made mark), Jesse G. Braley (made
mark), S. E. Kussell, Jesse H. Bray (could be Braley) and G. J. Bales. Other
relatives listed are J.F. Braley, W.A. Braley, G.B. Braley, J.R. Braley and C.O.
Wright.
He was buried in May 1913 in Spring Branch Cemetery, Columbia Co., AR.

All documents contained in succession papers (file 315, 1922, at Minden, Webster
Parish, LA courthouse) refer to Ida JOHNS. Dillion Wallace, grandson of Delia
Braley, remembers her maiden name as McDonald. A search of marriage files in
Minden did not reveal any bride with the name Johns or McDonald that married
William Richard Braley. Bride name indexes in other near-by Parishes have not
been searched for the Johns or McDonald name. There are, however, members of
the McDonald family (Aaron, b. 1853, d. 1932; and Mary Melissie McDonald (wife),
b. 1852, d. 1937) buried adjacent to Idalee and her husband, William R., lending
credence to Dillion recollection. William Richard BRALEY and Ida Lee JOHNS had
