ADKINS, EDNA DELAFIELD
Died 5:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 1995, at Baton Rouge General Health Center, following
a brief illness. She was 81, a native of Sarepta and a resident of Shongaloo.
Private graveside services were held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, 1995, at Old
Sarepta Cemetery, conducted by Dr. Newell O. Pugh and the Rev. Danny Sikes. Survived
by a daughter, Georgia Anne Miller, Baton Rouge; a son, Dr. Johnie W. Adkins
Jr., Shongaloo; four grandchildren, Marshall S. Miller III and Leigh Anne Miller,
both of Baton Rouge, Johnie W. Adkins III and wife, Kim, Shongaloo, and Julieanne
Adkins, Sierra Madre, Calif. Preceded in death by husband, Johnie W. Adkins Sr.,
Oct. 7, 1986. She was buried on Feb 21, 1995 in Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist
Church Cemetery, Sarepta, Webster Parish, LA. Edna Madeline DELAFIELD
and Johnie ADKINS were married. Johnie ADKINS
was born on Oct 4, 1906. He died on Oct 7, 1986 in Shongaloo, Webster
