Mrs. Anna A. Buford, 2517 C, resident of Lawton since 1942, died at 2:30 p.m.
Saturday in a local hospital. She had suffered from a heart ailment for the
past three years.
Born Feb. 6, 1895 at Crowell, Tex., she was married May 22, 1910 to Walter Buford
at Rush Springs, where she lived most of her life. She also made her home in
Hulen Community for about 10 years. She was a member of the Cameron Baptist
Church. Survivors include her husband, two sons, Elmo, Burkburnett, Tex., and
William D., Lawton; two daughters, Mrs. Wayne Sherrill, Elgin, and Miss Stella
Mae Buford, home address; one sister, Mrs. Mildred Penn, San Luis Obispo, Calif.;
one brother, Albert Blunt, Mesa, Ariz., and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements
are incomplete and will be announced by Becker Funeral home. She was buried
in Oct 1953 in Lawton, Comanche Co., OK. Alpha Anna BLUNT and Walter
H. BUFORD were married on May 22, 1910 in Rush Springs, Grady Co., OK.157 They appeared in the census
on Feb 2, 1920 in Grady Co., OK.158
They appeared in the census on Apr 24, 1930 in Scott Co., AR.159 Walter H. BUFORD was born
on Oct 26, 1887 in Aurora, Lawrence Co., MO. He died on May 1, 1977
in Lawton, Comanche Co., OK.160

Walter H. Buford
Funeral for Walter H. Buford, 89, of No. 4 S. 19th, who died at 6:20 p.m. Sunday
in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday
at Trinity Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. N. N. Antonson, pastor,
and Rev. Wilford Wisel, pastor of First Baptist Church West. Burial will be
in Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home.
Mr. Buford was born Oct. 26, 1887 in Aurora, Mo. He was married to Anna Blunt
in 1907 in Rush Springs. She died in 1953. He was married to Minta Wilson in
1957 in Lawton.
Mr. Buford was a retired carpenter. He moved to the Hulen Community in 1931
from Rush Springs. In 1943 he moved to Lawton.
Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, William D. Mabank, Tex.; three
daughters: Mrs. Nova Sherrill, Fletcher; Mrs. Stella Lewis, Midland, Tex.; and
Mrs. Barbara Freeman, 5106 NW Elm; one brother, Perry, Kansas City, Mo.; six
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was buried on May 4, 1977 in
Lawton, Comanche Co., OK. Alpha Anna BLUNT and Walter H. BUFORD had
