105. Terry Leroy (Lee) BISHOP was born about 1825 in Mississippi.¹⁷⁷ In the 1860 census Leroy gives his age as 35, indicating a birth year of 1825. He appeared in the census on Jun 29, 1870 in Union Co., AR, apparently as a widower.¹⁷⁸ According to Dr. Tom Walker, he has not found explicite evidence that names Leroy "Lee" Bishop as a son of Kai and Martha. If he was, he was possibly a twin of James F., and that his name was likely Terry Leroy. He may also have had a second wife, Sarah by whom he had a daughter named Tabitha. The 1880 census for Union County shows Leroy Bishop, age 54 years, with wife, Sarah A, age 29 years. Although Martha J. was 2 months old when the 1870 census was enumerated, she was recorded as being only 5 years old in 1880, and no children younger than her were recorded in the family of Leroy and Sarah. In the Chancery Court of Union County, recorded in August 1886, Tabitha Bishop was adopted by A. W. Linkenback. The record shows that Tibitha Bishop "...will be 4 years old on 19th day og August 1886;" thus, born on August 19, 1882. The record also states that "Leroy Bishop appeared in court and gave consent." (Union County Chancery Record, Docket Case 291, "In the Matter of Tabitha Bishop a minor." p184).

Terry Leroy (Lee) BISHOP and Catherine Jane PUCKETT were married on Jan 10, 1847 in Union Co., AR.¹⁷⁹ They appeared in the census on Nov 11, 1850 in Union Co., AR.¹⁸⁰ They appeared in the census on Sep 18, 1860 in Union Co., AR.¹⁸¹ Catherine Jane PUCKETT (daughter of Douglas PUCKETT and Elizabeth DUVAL) was born about 1832 in Mississippi. She died in Apr 1870 in Union Co., AR. It appears that Martha died shortly after the death of Martha J. Terry Leroy (Lee) BISHOP and Catherine Jane PUCKETT had the following children:

281	i.	Melissa BISHOP was born about 1849.
282	ii.	Albert BISHOP was born about 1860. There are several Bishop grave markers in the Ebenezer-Burns Cemetery in Union Co., AR. This cemetery is located 4 miles south of AR Hwy 7, south of Smackover on Hwy 335, at the end of Charlie Vance Road. This road is north and across Hwy 335 from Ebenezer Baptist Church. One of the Bishop headstones is for Albert H., born Feb. 10, 1860, died Apr 6, 1931. Sharing the marker is Effie Lee Biship, born Feb. 26, 1870, died Mar. 10, 1952. It is unknown at this time if Albert H. is the son of Terry Leroy (Lee) Bishop.
