Obituary

Mrs. Bertie Womble Leonard, age 95, or Sarepta, LA passed away Wednesday morning, May 26, 1993 at the Springhill Medical Center following a long illness.

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 27, 1993 at the Bailey Mortuary Chapel in Springhill with Rev. Marty Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Old Sarepta Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Inc. of Springhill, LA.

Mrs. Leonard was a native of Crossett, AR and had been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of the New Sarepta Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mrs. Jack Leonard in 1952, and a son, Mrs. J. A. Leonard in 1986.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nell Folmer, Longview, TX; two sons and daughters-in-law, Willie Day and Lavinia Leonard, Sarepta, LA, William Ethiel and Lessie Leonard, Denham Springs, LA; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sue Hollingsworth, Ruston, LA; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Winters, AR; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers were Gary Alan Leonard, Jimmy W. Leonard, Jackie R. Liston, Shane Beck, Tony Beck and Ed Maxwell. She was buried on May 27, 1993 in Old Sarepta Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Sarepta, Webster Parish, LA.⁷⁰ Jack Allen (Jim) LEONARD and Bertie WOMBLE had the following children:
