SOMMERS, EDNA L.
Died 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 1995, at Sterling Place. She was 75, a native
of Bluff Creek and resident of Baton Rouge. She was retired from LSU. Visiting
at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 4:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday
and 9 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Friday, conducted
by the Rev. John Hawkins. Interment in South Union Cemetery, Bluff Creek. Survived
by two daughters and a son-in-law, Mrs. Arthur T. (Katherine) Wiggins, Houma,
Lillian L. and FrankW. Smiley, Denham Springs; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald
B. and Janice N. Sommers, Zachary; two sisters, Delma Allen, Pineville, and Bessie
Foster, Watson; six grandchildren, Scotti Wiggins, Darren Smiley, Joel Sommers,
Kristi Smiley, Angie Smiley, and West Wiggins; and a great-grandchild, Scott
Wiggins. Preceded in death by husband, Clarence Levy Sommers; and a daughter,
Sylvia Jean Sommers. She was a member of Plank Road Baptist Church.
She was buried on Jul 13, 1995 in South Union Cemetery, East Feliciana Parish,
LA. Edna Lucille CARVER and Clarence Levy SOMMERS were married.
Clarence Levy SOMMERS was born on Aug 17, 1914.
