Austin, Marshall James A resident of Pride, he died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, July
14, 2005, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. He was 50, a retired
heavy equipment operator for East Baton Rouge City-Parish, and a native of Baton
Rouge. Visiting at Sandy Creek Baptist Church, Pride, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday,
July 15, and from 11 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16,
conducted by the Rev. Dewhayne Rogers and the Rev. Dale Phillips. Interment in
Milldale Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Violet Austin;
mother, Naomi Joyce Austin; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Amber and Jeremy
Guidry, Rachel and Chad Johnson and Megan Austin; a son, Joshua Austin; sister
and brother-in-law, Joni and Mark Christiansen; two brothers and sisters-in-law,
Mantle and Lynda Austin and Mark and Julie Austin; and five grandchildren, Brian
and Brice Guidry, Adrianna Austin, Clayton Johnson and Peyton Johnson; nieces
and nephews, Shane and Suni Christiansen, Rudy and Jesy Austin and Ashley Austin;
and great-niece, Morgan Christiansen. He was preceded in death by his father,
Willie Jay Austin; grandparents, Ruben and Ray Austin and Robert Wallace Coffey
Sr. and Winifred. Pallbearers will be Darryl Zachary, Joe McGraw, Randy Croft,
David Garner, Rogers Mestephy and Malcolm Wilson. Honorary pallbearers are Victor
and David Ropollo, Wendell Reeves, Todd Wilson, Chuck Fitzgerald, Jeremy Guidry,
Darrell and Frank Stubbs, Benny Paul Jenkins, Bouchue Mestephy, Gary Jeter, Reggie
Pelt, Jimmy Hammers, Shane Christiansen, Mark and Mantle Austin, Dwayne Digirolamo,
Darren Bond, Chad Johnson and Dale Lasyone. Baker Funeral Home is in charge of
arrangements.
He was buried on Jul 16, 2005 in Milldale Baptist Church Cemetery, Pride, EBR,
