ROE, TOM EDWARD "BUSTER"
A retired dragline operator for Louisiana Sand & Gravel Co. and resident
of Denham Springs, he died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 1997, at Columbia Medical
Center, Baton Rouge. He was 85 and a native of Clinton. Visiting was at Seale
Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday. Visiting at the funeral
home chapel, 10 a.m. until religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by
the Rev. Joe Starns. Interment in Bluff Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Survived
by three daughters, Emelda Roe Sims and Peggy Summers, both of Denham Springs,
and Helen Roe White, Ethel; five sons, Melvin, Roy, Ronnie, Tom Ed Jr. and Toler
Roe, all of Denham Springs; 20 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous
nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by wife, Gertrude Emelda Booker Roe; father,
Willie Roe; mother, Ella Bunch Carrier; stepfather, Dewey Carrier; and a brother,
Richard Roe. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church, Walker. He was buried
on Aug 26, 1997 in Bluff Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, East Feliciana Parish,

were married. Gertrude Emelda (Gertie) BOOKER
was born on Feb 12, 1913. She died on Apr 25, 1995 in Baton Rouge,

ROE, GERTRUDE EMELDA BOOKER "GERTIE"
Died 12:24 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 1995, at Medical Center of Baton Rouge. She
was 82, a native of Bluff Creek and a resident of Denham Springs. Visiting was
held at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at
the funeral home 9 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday,
conducted by the Rev. Joe Starns. Interment in Bluff Creek Baptist Church Cemetery,
Bluff Creek. Survived by husband, Tom Edward Roe Sr., Denham Springs; three daughters,
