The July 1860 census record for Catahoula Parish, Pine Woods, Trinity Post Office, Page 47, dwelling 363, family 353, lists a John Ruhe, age 29, born Germany, occupation Butcher, residing with the F. Desh family.

John ROE and Elizabeth Frances PULLAM were married on Jul 27, 1869 in East Baton Rouge Parish, LA.

We, the undersigned John Row as Principal and J. F. Bushman as Security are held and firmly bound unto the present Governor of the State of Louisiana or his successors in office in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars current money of the United States of America

The conditions of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounden John Row has obtained from the Clerk of the 5th Judicial District Court for said Parish of East Baton Rouge, a License to be joined in marriage to Elizabeth Cabner <sic> [Carpenter]

Now, if there be no lawful course of impediment to the said marriage the obligation to be will be null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and value.

She died about 1874 in Baywood, EBR Parish, LA. John ROE and Elizabeth Frances PULLAM had the following children:

Elizabeth ROE was born in Mar 1870. She appeared in the census in 1870 in East Baton Rouge Parish, LA. She died before 1874.

I seem to recall a tale from Grandpa Roe (Archie, not Green) that Elizabeth was buried under a tree at an old home place. I believe that old place was near the intersection of the Greenwell Spring Road and the Bluff Creek Road (LA37 and LA63), and on the east side of LA37.

She appeared in the census on Apr 8, 1930 in East Feliciana Parish, LA, enumerated with widowed daughter, Ida Mae Carver. She died about 1930 in Baywood, EBR Parish, LA. She was buried about 1930 in South Union Cemetery, East Feliciana Parish, LA. Although headstone indicates death in 1920, Mary was alive and enumerated in the 1930 East Feliciana Parish census John ROE and Mary (Molly) CLARK had the following children:
