SMITH, Joseph A.
Died 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 1988, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical
Center. He was 79, a native of Baywood and resident of Hammond. He was a retired
building contractor. Visiting at Seale Funeral Home, Denham Springs, 10 a.m.
until religious services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Jim Bailey
and the Rev. Louis Strickland. Burial in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery.
Survived by wife, Ora Desmond Smith, a daughter, Betty Smith Washer, Livingston;
three stepdaughters, Mary Ann Erdey, Livingston, Sue Daniels, Albany and Debbie
Hampton, Springfield; two stepsons, Ed and Kevin Stewart, both of Albany; three
grandchildren, Steven Lynn Washer, Alexandria, Karen Baudin and Galen "Butch"
Washer, both of Baton Rouge; and nine step-grandchildren. Preceded in death by
first wife, Mary Connor Smith; mother, Jennifer Smith; and a brother, CE. "Punk"
Smith. He was a member of Killian Baptist Church. He was buried on Dec 21,
1988 in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery, Denham Springs, Livingston Parish,
LA.81 Mary
CONNOR was born on Dec 26, 1915. She died on Feb 4, 1972.
She was buried after Feb 4, 1972 in Denham Springs Memorial Cemetery, Denham
