Some Coffey Grave Markers in Jackson County, Alabama.

Recorded and Submitted to Coffey Cousins' Clearinghouse by Sally Coffee Bryan, January 1998

This large double marker is up on a hill near Coffee Bluff on the Tennessee River. To find it take US 231 take US 72 East, then Jackson County Road 46, then Jackson County Road #264. It has a large arch engraved with the words "Father and Mother" and "COFFEY". The other side has "Clark Maclin Coffey, born November 4, 1865, died January 5, 1916" and "Elizabeth Coffey, born December 26, 1869, died March 28, 1914."

Nearby are headstones:

Not far away, near Crow Creek, is a large cemetery with a small, walled, old section near the back. Here I found the following markers. These are not the only markers in the section; I simply wrote down the ones that interested me due to their apparent family connections.

died May 21, 1896 this is what’s on the grave marker.)

      wife of John R
      December 28, 1831

I anyone has a great interest in these I would not mind driving back over to the area again to photograph and record more information.
