Mayor M. C. Coffee Leads Okolona Progress Movement

Oolona A new day is dawning for Okolona under the cooperation and leadership of Hon. M. C. Coffee, popular Mayor of the town. Modestly but proudly, Mayor Coffee is heading the movement for a constructive and progressive upbuilding of Okolona and the teritory (sic) that supports it. His wife is Mrs. Ora Coffee. They have one son, Winston Coffee. As neighbors and friend, the Coffees rate at the top, say their friends. Parents: Edward Coffee, 50, at his death in 1889 and Mrs. Julia Coffee, 62 when she died in 1941. A native of Georgia Mayor Coffee came to Arkansas in 1889 and to Okolona in 1911. He has 225 acres of land which he would sell for cash or terms, he announces. Crops and live stock are general on the Coffee farm. Mayor Coffee is now serving his first term as Mayor. He has also served as road foreman. He is strong for adequate flood control, and every other movement looking for the betterment and general upbuilding of Okolona. Serving for 3 years as manager of Temple Cotton Oil Co., gin here, Mayor Coffee keeps that plant in modern condition and enjoys a splendid patronage. Keep up your good stride, Mr. Mayor; An active cattleman, the Mayor says he will have handled 500 head this year.
