My Father's name was Dominick Joseph Scimeca (1920-1992) from Tickfaw, La. He met Mama (b.1923) in Hammond and were married July 22, 1943. He was in the Army Air Force. They were stationed in Palm Beach, Fla. until he was s(h)ipped to India, she came back to Louisiana and I was born in Baton Rouge 2-20-45. Mama stayed in Tickfaw to help Daddy's parents run their grocery store. I spent the first 6 years of my life staying 2 weeks in Denham (Springs) with grandma, grandpa and Aunt Teedle and back to Tickfaw where a freat great Aunt took care of me. Dominick Joseph SCIMECA was born on Mar 31, 1920 in Amite, Tangipahoa Parish, LA. He died on Jun 9, 1992 in Independence, Tangipahoa Parish, LA.310

Dominick Joseph Scimeca, Sr.

Died Tuesday, June 9, 1992, at Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, Independence. he was 72 and a resident of Tickfaw. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Visiting at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday, and 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday. Religious services at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Tickfaw, at 10 a.m. Thursday. Burial in Colonial Mausoleum. Survived by wife, Beatrice Roe Scimeca, Tickfaw; a daughter, Mrs. Nace (Sannie) Bonfiglio, Tickfaw; a son, Dr. D. J. Scimeca, Baton Rouge; a sister, Josephine Kowalski, Baton Rouge; and five grandchildren, Jane Havlicek, Cindy Bonfiglio and David Bonfiglio, all of Tickfaw, Tyler Scimeca and Christy Scimeca, both of Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Santina Spitale Scimeca; a brother, Guy M. Scimeca; and a sister, Phine Scimeca. He was a member of the Mater Dolorosa Knights of Columbus Council No. 5627, Independence, Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church and was an Army Air Corps WWII Sergeant.

He was buried on Jun 11, 1992 in St. Joseph's Mausoleum, Colonial Cemetery, Independence, Tangipahoa Parish, LA. Evelyne Beatrice ROE and Dominick Joseph SCIMECA had the following children:
