7. Emily BISHOP was born about 1824.

Emily BISHOP and Samuel Thadison HILBURN were married on Nov 30, 1839 in Copiah Co., MS.¹² They appeared in the census on Jul 27, 1860 in Winn Parish, LA.¹³ Samuel Thadison HILBURN was born in Jun 1820 in Mississippi. He patented land on Feb 10, 1840 the N1/2 of the W1/2 of the SW1/4 of S10 in TS10N of R8E (39.9 acres) on Feb 10, 1840 in Co in Copiah Co., MS He appeared in the census in 1840 in Copiah Co., MS.¹⁴
Samuel Hilburn, of Copiah County Mississippi, patented the north half of the west half of the south west quarter of section 10, in township10 north, of range 8 east, in the district of lands subject to sale at Mount Salue, Mississippi, containing 39 acres and 90/100 of an acre on February 10, 1840.
He appeared in the census on Oct 25, 1850 in Jackson Parish, LA.¹⁵ He served in the military on Oct 13, 1862 in Louisiana.
Samuel T. Bilborn (sic) enlisted in Co. K, 28th (Gray's) LA Infantry on October 13, 1862, about 8 months after his sons Ison and Joseph enlisted in the 12th LA Infantry. Samuel enlisted at Tallular (sic) [Louisiana] ,and was shown absent without leave on unit roll of Aug. 31, 1863. He later appeared on roll of Prisoners of War, and subsequently paroled at Natchitoches, LA. (See Confederate Research Sources, Vol. 2H, p304)

He appeared in the census in 1900 in Haynesville, Claiborne Parish, LA, enumerated with James F. Hilburn family.¹⁶ He died on May 6, 1903 in Bossier Parish, LA. He was buried in May 1903 in Salem Cemetery, Plain Dealing, Bossier Parish, LA.¹⁷ Emily BISHOP and Samuel Thadison HILBURN had the following children:

17	iii.	Isom C. HILBURN was born about 1844 in Mississippi. He served in the military on Feb 10, 1862 in Monterey, Concordia Parish, LA. Ison enlisted in Co. D, 12th Louisiana Infantry, along with his brother Joseph, at Monterey, La. on Feb. 10, 1862. (See Confederate Research Sources, Vol. 2H, p304) He died on May 9, 1862 in Camp Randall, Madison, Dane Co., WI. He was buried in 1862 in Forest Hill Cemetery, Confederate Lot, Madison, Dane Co., WI.

19	v.	Priscilla J. HILBURN was born about 1848 in Louisiana.
