Weightstill Avery Coffey was b. August 28, 1837 in Bedford County, TN and d. July 20, 1898 in Scottsboro, Jackson,
Alabama. He was the son of Alexander Hamilton Coffey, b. January 29, 1803, & Nancy E. (Weatherly) Coffey. He married Mary E. Harriss, b.
August 16, 1847 in Jackson County, Alabama. He was the grandson of Rice Coffey, b. April 17, 1766 & Sarah "Sally" (Bradford)
Coffey, and the great grandson of James Coffey, b. July 4, 1729 & Elizabeth (Cleveland) Coffey. His picture was made in Tennessee and I
am not sure of the date but probably around the early 1860s. He was my maternal grandmother's father.
